Using MorphVOX in Day of Defeat (DoD)

MorphVOX can be used with all Valve games and Half Life mods, including Day of Defeat.

Day of Defeat uses the system default microphone for audio input.

If you have not set the Screaming Bee Audio microphone as your default please click here for instructions on setting the driver before running Day of Defeat.

Testing Day of Defeat Audio: Option Settings

To test if your microphone is hooked up correctly do the following:

Run MorphVOX.
Start Day of Defeat.
Click on Options. The dialog above will appear.
Click on the Voice tab.
Check "Enable voice in the game"
Click on Test Microphone.

If the your voice is faint then you might want to click on boost microphone gain .

It is normal for the voice to sound distorted or "crackly" during the test. This happens even without MorphVOX installed, and the quality of the voice during the game is always better (don't ask us why).

Game play tips:

Assign a push-to-talk key in MorphVOX that is the same as the one assigned in Counter-Strike. Click here to learn more about assigning keys.
Create custom sound effects and assign Quick Effects to give orders or insults.
Change your voice with Quick Voices.
